How to get around in Zurich

Getting around Zurich is quite convenient, thanks to the efficient public transportation system managed by the Zurich Transport Network (ZVV). Here are some key points to help you navigate the city:

1. Trams and Buses: Zurich's trams and buses are the backbone of the city's public transport. They run frequently and cover almost every part of the city. You can find tram and bus stops every 300 meters.

2. Trains: The S-Bahn trains are great for traveling to the suburbs and nearby towns. The main hub is Zurich Hauptbahnhof (HB), the central train station.

3. Boats: For a scenic route, you can take a boat trip on Lake Zurich. This is included in the ZVV network.

4. Tickets: You can buy single-ride tickets, day passes, or the Zürich Card, which offers unlimited travel on all public transport within the city and includes some additional perks like free or discounted entry to museums.

5. Zürich Card: This card is especially useful for tourists. It allows unlimited travel on public transport and includes travel from the airport to the city center.

6. Walking and Cycling: Zurich is a very walkable city, and there are plenty of bike rental options if you prefer cycling.
